New York Teacher makes way for NYSUT United

NYSUT's familiar bi-weekly newspaper, which has been publishing under the New York Teacher banner for 38 years, will be replaced in September by a new, monthly publication, NYSUT United.
The name and content of the new publication reflect the growing diversity of the statewide union's membership.
NYSUT United will sport a new, smaller size and magazine-like format, with articles organized around different departments.
One department will focus on education issues; another will be devoted to health and safety, for example.
Other content will remain focused on union news, legislative and political activity, member information, and tools and resources for the union professional.
As in past years, Communications staff will be working throughout the summer on news and feature assignments that will produce some of that content for the upcoming NYSUT United publishing year.
Staff also assists in training for the Local Action Project. Some content will be generated by the other summer conferences undertaken by NYSUT and its national affiliates, the American Federation of Teachers and National Education Association.
These annual sessions generate many useful "how-to" articles to help you in your profession.
Look for the September inaugural issue of NYSUT United in your mailbox in late August.
